Fra 28.mars vises utstillingen Nordiske Ikoner i Peer Gynt salongene på Grand Hotel Oslo. Med Nordiske ikoner bringer Unni Askeland og Foreningen Norden oss tettere på 18 profiler som har påvirket nordisk kultur de siste 100 årene. Skuespiller Liv Ullman, forfatter Karen Blixen og den svenske Nobelprisvinneren i litteratur, Tomas Transtömer, er blant de som avbildes i serien av malerier. – I Nordiske ikoner avbildes profiler som har hatt en stor betydning for mennesker over hele Norden, og som virkelig har bidratt til å forme den felles nordiske kulturen, sier generalsekretær i Foreningen Norden, Espen Stedje. Foreningen Norden feirer i år 100 år som den fremste pådriveren for mer nordisk samarbeid og kunstserien er en del av jubileumsprogrammet. Det er imidlertid kunstneren selv som har plukket ut hvem som avbildes i kunstverkene. – Jeg vil gjerne sørge for å få til et mangfold nordiske portretter, som er annerledes enn de som for eksempel havner på haleroret til Norwegian, sier Unni Askeland. Kunstneren selv vil være tilstede for å presentere utstillingen ved et par anledninger i løpet av ustillingsperioden - datoer annonseres fortløpende her på vår Facebook-side. Velkommen!
